Biographical Sketch:
My name is Nathan Burns, and I grew up in a small rural town named Wallburg in NC. I was never exposed to physics growing up, but when I came to Yale, I instantly became intrigued while taking Professor Steinacker’s introductory class. From there, I was able to reach out and learn more about research and the world of physics, eventually leading me to perform research on the ePIC detector for the EIC under Dr. Caines.
In this position, I mainly perform quality assurance on various components for the detector and ensure everything operates as efficiently as possible. In my free time, I enjoy gaming with friends, developing/creating games with Amorium Labs, playing pickleball, working on rocket science with YUAA Project Liquid, and just hanging with friends.
Originally from Wallburg, NC, he is a rising junior at Yale College double majoring in Physics and Applied Mathematics.
