Biographical Sketch:
Lucas Weaver, from Fairfield, Connecticut, is a rising sophomore at Yale majoring in Computer Science. He enjoys hiking, swimming, biking, playing pickleball, and running a small Dungeons and Dragons campaign with friends.
At Wright Lab, he works with Dr. Laura Havener simulating proton-proton collisions and attempt to recover the true collision behavior from underneath a large heavy-ion thermal background. Hopefully, these analysis techniques can be applied to real data from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to effectively characterize the phase space of particle declusterings using an observable called the Lund jet plane.
Project(s):
“Quantifying and correcting thermal background distortion in the Lund jet plane” - Summer 2026
Education:
- B.S. Computer Science, Yale University, expected 2029
