Heeger elected to APS DNP Executive Committee
Karsten Heeger, Eugene Higgins Professor of Physics and director of Yale’s Wright Lab, was elected to the Executive Committee for the American Physical Society (APS) Division of Nuclear Physics (DNP). Heeger’s two-year term will begin in March 2026, during the APS Global Physics Summit.
Heeger said, “This is an important time for science in the U.S. and in the world. As a member of the DNP Executive Committee, I will work to promote nuclear physics in the U.S. and help advocate for its scientific opportunities and impact on society. I will leverage my international experience across research fields to emphasize the importance of nuclear science in an increasingly interconnected and interdisciplinary research environment.”
The election results were announced in the DNP newsletter no. 226 from November 2025.
