Stokes elected Young DUNE Spokesperson Liaison

Wright Lab Postdoctoral Associate Tyler Stokes was recently elected the Young DUNE Spokesperson Liaison.
The Young DUNE Spokesperson Liaison serves as the main point of contact between early-career members of the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) and the experiment’s elected Spokespersons, ensuring that the voices of early-career scientists are heard by the collaboration’s leadership. The Liaison represents Young DUNE on the DUNE Authorship and Publications Board and acts as the professional development coordinator, organizing mentoring, networking, and related activities.
Stokes said, “I am excited to serve as Young DUNE’s Spokesperson Liaison and to represent the early-career community within the collaboration. DUNE is a vibrant international experiment of 35+ countries and 1,500+ collaborators, bringing together a wide range of unique voices and perspectives. I look forward to building connections, advocating for the Young DUNE community, and contributing to the collaboration’s future.”
Yale is a key US assembly site for DUNE’s charge readout planes (CRPs), critical components of the far detectors. The research group of Karsten Heeger, Eugene Higgins Professor of Physics and Director of Wright Lab, is responsible for the assembly of CRPs at Wright Lab and studying the detector response. Stokes is the scientific lead for the CRP assembly and testing at Yale.
Heeger said, “Tyler has taken an active role in the international DUNE collaboration and is the lead scientist for the CRP effort at Yale. This appointment recognizes his contributions to DUNE, his extensive knowledge of the experiment, and the wide recognition he has among his peers. The DUNE leadership will benefit from his perspective and insights on critical issues for the experiment.”
The Heeger group also leads analyses of DUNE’s prototype (ProtoDUNE-VD) data from CERN and is actively preparing for DUNE’s first neutrino measurements.
