Summer Research 2021 - Ghosh, Getz and Giman

scientist at optical table.

The Haloscope at Yale Sensitive To Axion CDM (HAYSTAC) is a tunable microwave cavity experiment searching for axion dark matter in the galactic halo. After successfully surpassing the quantum limit in phase 2, HAYSTAC’s third phase will utilize rydberg atoms to achieve single-photon detection. This summer RAY (Rydberg Atoms at Yale) is finalizing our experimental design as well as setting up and testing apparatus.
