In 2018, the U.S. News and World Report published their ranking of the Yale Physics graduate program as #12 in the nation for graduate physics programs, out of 184 schools. Read the methodology here. In the subfield of nuclear physics, Yale was tied for #5 with the University of California-Berkeley. These rankings remain for the 2022 edition of the U.S. News and World Report, as U.S. News only periodically ranks graduate programs in the sciences and other areas.
