On April 12, 2024, Yale Physics inducted nineteen members  from the undergraduate classes of 2024 and 2025 to Sigma Pi Sigma, an organization of the American Institute of Physics (AIP) and the official honor society of the physics profession. Through election to Sigma Pi Sigma, distinctive achievement and high scholarship in physics for undergraduate students are recognized and celebrated.

Sarah Demers, professor of physics and director of undergraduate studies, said, “Sigma Pi Sigma is a wonderful organization, focused on community and service. I’m thrilled that Yale joined in 2020 and that we’ve been able to have so many of our students earn the honor of participation over the past few years.”
