On June 21, Wright Lab officially welcomed 7 students from Italy who are participating in the inaugural ONAOSI-Yale Undergraduate Research Experience in Instrumentation at Wright Lab with a community coffee and orientation led by Wright Lab program manager Victoria Misenti.
The 2022 Yale-ONAOSI program students are: Tiziano Buzzigoli, Antonio Ferraloro, Margherita Montavoci, Guilia Colonna, Lodovico Balzoni, Francesca Conti, and Andrea De Simone.
Also present at the event were ONAOSI-Yale program administrative support staff member Taylor Dunnigan and mentors of the students, including: Mariam Aboian, assistant professor; Antonio Ereditato, visiting professor; Gigi Galiana, associate professor; Bernadette Marquez-Nostra, assistant professor; David Moore, assistant professor; Evan Morris, professor; Avinay Bhat, postdoctoral associate; Nahla Elsaid, associate research scientist; Domenico Franco, associate research scientist; Jocelyn Hoye, postdoctoral associate; and Alaaddin Ibrahimy, graduate student.
Furthermore, representatives from the ONAOSI organization called in via Zoom from Italy to welcome the group, including: Paolo Giovenali, member of the ONAOSI board of directors, delegated by the ONAOSI President; Francesco Tavernese, general manager of the ONAOSI Foundation; Giorgio Coretti, head of assistance; Emanuela Pallotta, head of the office of student and postgraduate training; and Steven Whitford, translator.
