Event description:

Seeing through strong-scattering media such as white paint or human tissue has long been considered impossible. Recent developments of optical wavefront shaping techniques have enabled the experimental realizations of imaging and focusing light through turbid samples. We demonstrated coherent control of light transmission and absorption in diffusive systems by manipulating the interference of multiply scattered waves. We further suppressed spatiotemporal lasing instabilities via complex wave interference in wave chaotic cavities.
